You try coming up with a title on three hours of sleep...

Maybe it's because I went to bed at nearly 2 am, woke up at 5 am in pain and feeling weird, spent one hour in the bath, and am now sitting at the computer at 6:17 am eating RitzBitz Cheese Sandwich crackers (sooooo good) and drinking a Coke, but I think this story is awesome.  Except for the stupid mother, but you know, hey, be inspired where you can...

Maybe next time...

Now I find out I was supposed to starve myself all this time in order to have a girl

*UPDATED* Let's just put it this way...

... I can see these emergency lights from my driveway.  And I turn onto one of the said streets to get home.  And I can post this only because my blog is private.  I can't believe Ashley had to call me and tell me about it.  Apparently I've been in Lala Land all night.

*Concerns about my neighborhood or us needing to move are not necessary.  That's not what I was implying or suggesting with this post.  This type of thing can happen anywhere.  I mean, Darlie Routier slaughtered her own children in a giant, expensive home in a giant, expensive neighborhood.  Crazies are everywhere.

Enjoying randomness

Have you ever been watching the news, and towards the end, they include a story that you just can't believe made the cut?  Sometimes they come up with the most ridiculous, nonsensical, or just plain ordinary stories to include on the news.  Tonight, after a piece about how a sheikh paid $2.7 million for a female camel, because females run faster in big races, my mouth was hanging open in disbelief.  I mean, why do I need to know this?  But then the newscaster made up for it by looking deathly serious into the camera and saying, "We just thought you should know."  I want to take him out for lunch and buy him a steak for that.

See what you do to us?

I dedicate this article to the Man Bloggers.  That's why I do not provide snacks on Wii night.  Deal with it.

Spare me

If my family was on the news or in the paper every time this happened growing up, we would be major celebrities. Talk about your fifteen minutes of fame.  How does this stuff make it on the news?  All the same, I hope the wee little feline makes it out okay.  Then he can come live with me.

Daddy hero

I'll let this one speak for itself.

Don't want to meet him in a dark alley

If you haven't yet heard, there's a pretty weird, creepy video circulating of Tom Cruise singing the praises of Scientology. It's over eight minutes long, and I couldn't even make it all the way through it. But watch a little of it, because knowing a little about it makes this little parody by Jerry O'Connell just that much funnier.

No regrets

I think this is pretty funny... and ridiculous.

Proof that I DO have a soul...

CNN actually posts little snippets like this one quite frequently, but they are probably the only thing on the planet that make me literally bawl instantly every time.

Duh

I love it when stuff like this is in the news.

Give me a break!

I am otherwise speechless about this.

Nominate her for Mensa

Tonight on the news, every channel was talking about the huge tanker explosion today. I had it tuned in to Channel 5, and they were showing pictures that passersby took with their cell phone cameras. They come to one that shows a couple of firemen crouched close to the fire. Suddenly, the newscaster's voice gets low and dramatic and slow, and she says, "Look how close those firemen are to the fire..." Said full of wonderment, as if she was saying, "Look how close that alien spaceship is hovering over the Pentagon."

Thank you, Captain Genius. I had no idea firemen got close to fires. Alert the cotton-pickin' media!

Oh, wait. Someone did.

*I mentioned this in the comments, but want to post something here, too. Since I posted this, the driver of the tanker died. I feel bad, because I wasn't trying to make light of a tragic situation. So forgive me if it seemed insensitive; it wasn't my intention.

Too spooked to watch this right now...

...since it's 4:00 a.m. and dark as a tomb in my house. I'm afraid this will just make my current insomnia worse, even though it's probably just a bug on the screen. But I am soooo watching this bad boy tomorrow.

I'm Ashamed

Ashley sent me this hilarious article. But it's shameful my team didn't come out on top.
